What I love about teaching:
I love that I am able to provide children with a quality educational experience, while honoring God and our country. I love the children's enthusiasm for learning.
Best teacher moment:
There is never a dull moment in the classroom! That is what I love about working with children. They are constantly growing and learning from their mistakes. I love watching how each student changes, both academically and emotionally, over the course of the school year.
Teaching philosophy:
I want to encourage students to develop to the best of their abilities, by teaching each student to use their God-given talents for good. God made us uniquely individual, with our own special talents. He does not expect us to be like our neighbor; therefore, I do not expect all students to be the same or perform at the same level. I believe it is the teacher's job to encourage excellence, as it is defined for each student.
What I would like to instill in my students:
I would like to encourage my students to explore what makes them uniquely wonderful; and to build upon these talents as they continue to grow and learn.
My story:
The last five years, I have spent as a stay-at-home mom. I have an extensive educational background in Psychology with a Masters in Clinical Psychology. With my youngest child entering pre-k, I felt called to pursue a teaching opportunity at Bay Christian School. It has been a blessing to work in the same environment as my children. I look forward to using this experience as an opportunity to deepen my connection to God by loving children and spreading his word.
Hobbies:
I have a long-standing passion for maintaining health and wellness, both physically and mentally. Running and yoga are my favorite physical activities. I enjoy spending time outdoors, in the sunshine, with my family and friends. The beach is my happy place! I also enjoy crafting uniquely beautiful pieces of resin jewelry.
