- What I would like to instill in my students:
- That God loves them and is always with them....'God made the world and everything in it'. I would like to instill in them a lifelong love of learning and the knowledge that each student is very precious to me.
- My story:
- I was born and raised in the sunny Caribbean nation of Trinidad.I earned my B.A. in English Literature from The University of the West Indies and spent 14 years teaching in Junior and Senior high schools in Trinidad.After marrying my husband Gary,I migrated to the U.S. A few years later,I developed an interest in Early Childhood Education.I earned my ECE units at Los Medanos College in Pittsburg,CA and was a Mentor Intern at the LMC Child Development Center for two years.Gary and I have a son (Evan) and daughter (Lily) and we share our home with our playful black lab Sophie,our sweet doxie Peanut and our spunky cat Chico..all rescue animals.
- Hobbies:
- I am a voracious reader and especially enjoy studying Europe in the 16th and 17th century, reading historical fiction, Ancient Civilizations and translating Old English to Modern English.I enjoy traveling, volunteering at ARF and long walks with my dogs.I love cuddling with Chico,cooking spicy Caribbean dishes and anything Star Wars!
